GENIE—The Magic Carpet Ride: The Stumpjumper 15’s biggest innovation is GENIE. This patent-pending air spring technology we invented delivers on three things every trail rider wants: the feel and control of a coil spring, better bottom-out prevention than standard air damping, and an adjustable “platform” for a playful ride.
GENIE IS INSPIRING: GENIE combines the linearity of a coil spring for improved control in rough terrain with the progressiveness of an air spring at the end of its stroke to prevent unwanted bottoming. It’s truly the best of both worlds – spring and air – with additional adjustability. Say goodbye to compromise and hello to the future of damping.
WHAT IS BUMP?: With 16.3% better impact force management than a traditional air shock, GENIE allows the Stumpy 15 to be ridden like a mountain bike with more travel. For example, the Stumpjumper 15 (with 145mm rear wheel travel) and our Enduro (170mm travel) both use 101mm of travel to absorb 1,080N of impact force.
TRACTION GALORE: Extensive field testing proves that the Stumpjumper 15 with GENIE provides 57% more traction than a standard air shock because GENIE technology gives you smooth, spring-like performance and keeps the wheel in contact with the ground for a greater percentage of the time.
BYE, BYE, TAILING: 39% less tailing than a standard air spring. During big impacts, you benefit from an increasing ratio in the last 30% of the GENIE shock’s stroke.
REFINED GEOMETRY: This mountain bike's geometry delivers big capability when you need it, a nimble feel in tight sections, and lively, efficient climbing abilities.
